Help Shape the 2027 Summit
The Mountain and Resort Town Planners Summit is built around the issues practitioners are confronting in their communities. For 2027, the Planning Committee has identified eight broad themes that will guide the program:

Housing, Demographics, and Community Change, including workforce housing, affordability, changing demographics, wealth concentration, and the hollowing out of year-round communities.
Growth, Development, and the Future of Mountain Places, including carrying capacity, redevelopment, resort growth, commercial development, and changing development patterns.
Tourism, Recreation, and Resort Economies, including destination stewardship, visitor management, trail planning, economic diversification, and changing winter and shoulder seasons.
Conservation and Natural Systems, including public lands, wildlife corridors, recreation pressures, development impacts, and human-wildlife coexistence.
Climate Resilience and Adaptation, including wildfire, water, emergency preparedness, community recovery, home hardening, insurance, and planning for a changing climate.
Transportation and Regional Systems, including regional transit, mobility, workforce access, and alternatives to continued reliance on private vehicles.
Governance, Funding, and Implementation, including regional collaboration, funding tools, political change, taxation, intergovernmental relationships, and turning community priorities into action.
Community Belonging, including demographic divides, housing stability, inclusion, mental health, and building stronger connections among the people who live and work in mountain communities.

We want your ideas. These themes are intentionally broad, and the final program will be shaped by the people who participate. We invite practitioners, communities, organizations, and prospective sponsors to submit ideas, case studies, projects, lessons learned, and questions that would make for a valuable summit conversation.
You do not need to submit a finished presentation. The Planning Committee will review submissions, connect complementary ideas, and work directly with submitters to develop sessions, panels, tours, and facilitated discussions. We are particularly interested in practical experience, including what worked, what did not, and what other mountain communities can learn from it.
